The War of Art: Break Through the Blocks and Win Your Inner Creative Battles by Steven Pressfield
Date read: Aug. 16, 2019
How much I liked it: 8/10
The War of Art is a wonderful book. I heard a lot of good things about this book from various sources. I was not disappointed. I recommend it to anyone who feels that they are not doing what they want to. There should be nothing stopping you.
The main outcome for me was that I actually started writing. The arguments the author provided were very motivational. The structure of the book makes you want to keep reading it, even id you hate reading it. I was so consumed with the book that I did not make any notes, it flew by me. I will revisit this book shortly and will be sure to highlight and share my favorite parts!
In each one of us sits an evil force, called Resistance. This force is powered by ego and will do everything to keep things the way they currently are.
This book will show you what Resistance is and just from knowing your enemy you will have much better odds of defeating it. To help you do that, the author provides you with the most effective tools to deal with the evil force that keeps you from writing, painting or doing whatever your heart desires (what you were meant to do).
